Artist Statement
So, I've always wanted to paint this picture. See this 1960 Taylor Port bottle? Bought it when I was around 30, and it has my birthday on it. Saved it till I was 50 and let me tell you - it was fantastic! Always had this idea to paint it.I won't lie, it was tough. But I was dead set on nailing it. I wanted to capture the essence of the bottle, the rich color of the port, and the texture and shape of the corks. And after what felt like forever, I finally did it. I had the painting I'd always dreamed of. It just goes to show, if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. Sure, sometimes it takes years to get there, but trust me, it's worth it. And in my case, I got to enjoy a killer bottle of port along the way. Talk about a win-win.
