The Story
I've always wanted to paint this picture. There's this 1960 Taylor Port bottle—I bought it when I was around 30 because it had my birthday on it. I saved it until I was 50, and let me tell you—it was fantastic! I'd always dreamed of painting it, and finally, I took on the challenge. I won't lie, it was tough, but I was dead set on nailing it. I wanted to capture everything: the essence of the bottle, the rich color of the port, and the texture and shape of the corks. After what felt like forever, I finally did it. I created the painting I'd always dreamed of. It just goes to show, if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. Sure, sometimes it takes years to get there, but trust me, it's worth it. And in my case, I got to enjoy an incredible bottle of port along the way. Talk about a win-win!
